A step by step guide to simple conventional photography

If you follow the steps in this simple guide, you cannot go wrong with your photography.

1.Put a film in your camera. You will have to refer to your camera's instructions for this as methods will vary.Result of camera wrong way round.

2.Make sure you know which way round you should point your camera, or your pictures may turn out as self portraits. A simple rule of thumb is to point the lens (the bit that sticks out in front on many cameras) away from you.
3.If your camera has a lens cover, remove it before taking your photograph, or it will turn out rather dark.Lens cover left on.

4.Use the "view finder". This is the bit of glass or plastic that you can look through. You will find you can photograph what you want much more easily with one than without. It is intended that you position yourself and camera so the image you want on your photograph can be seen through the view finder.Misuse of a viewfinder

5.After you have set up your shot, press the "shutter release button". This is the button on your camera. Pressing this button takes a photograph.Correct use of a viewfinder

6.You will then have to "wind" the film on to the next "frame".
7.Once you have taken a full roll of film, do not take the film out of your camera and hold it up to sunlight to view your pictures. This tends to make your pictures less clear. Instead, take your film to a chemists. They will charge you, but you will get much better results.Viewed with sunlight.
